Kendwa

Friday, June 28th

We went to Kendwa for our second to last night together, and stayed at Kendwa Rocks. It was a really nice resort, unlike the other places we have been staying. Here we were all able to share one room to split th cost. We had a fridge and a hair dryer! Talk about luxury. 

Jake and I decided to walk down the beach to ask about different places to stay next week. In Kendwa it was mostly nice resorts- not what we were looking for. We walked for a long time, and then realized we were in Nungwi! We went and asked about some bungalows we saw when we stayed at Magologolo, and they were perfect. Super cheap and on the beach, so we reserved them for five nights next week. We had to hurry to walk back before the tide got high, and we made it. 

The tide here is crazy. The difference in high tide and low tide at some places could be at least 100 meters. Locals plan their day around the tide. 

We made it back to Kendwa just in time a little swimming and then happy hour.

During happy hour we noticed that our resort had sushi. We knew right away where we were eating dinner! It was our favorite evening with everyone. So fun and relaxing. 

After a great, long evening at dinner, we went next door to a resort. They were having a beach party, and Eva, Sara, and Jemshed were meeting us there. We didn't stay too long, but had to say our goodbyes to Sara and Eva. Hopefully we see them again someday!
